This page explains what Whitcombe Bookkeeping & Tax learns about you through this website, why we keep it and who sees it. The short version: we keep what you send us so we can call you back and quote your work, and we never sell it.

What you send us

When you fill out the contact form, we receive what you type:

That message goes to our office inbox. An accountant reads it and uses it to reply, set up a call and prepare a quote. Please don’t send tax documents or account numbers through the form. Once you’re a client, we’ll give you a secure portal for those.

What we don’t do

What the website records on its own

Like most websites, ours keeps basic server logs: the date, the page visited and the address of the device that asked for it. Our web host keeps these for security and to keep the site running. We don’t use them to identify you.

This site doesn’t set tracking cookies. If you log in to manage the site, WordPress sets a cookie to keep you signed in. Visitors never get one. The price estimator works entirely in your own browser, and the choices you make in it never reach us.

Who else sees it

Our web host stores the site and its form messages. Our email provider delivers them to us. Neither is allowed to use your information for anything else.

Your choices

You can ask us what we have on file about you, ask us to fix it or ask us to delete it. Email hello@whitcombebooks.com or call (555) 019-3318. If the law requires us to keep a record, such as a filed return, we’ll tell you which one and why.
